Dr. Michael Breidenbach, Ph.D.

Dean Breidenbach is a historian of American religion, politics, law, and culture. He is author of a critically acclaimed book about Catholics and the American Founding published by Harvard University Press. Students describe his American Catholic History course as one of their favorite classes at AMU.

About the Speaker

Professor Brad Gregory is the Henkels Family College Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame. His pathbreaking research has shown the effects of religious and political disagreement from the Reformation era to the present. He is the author of several books, including the prize-winning Salvation at Stake: Christian Martyrdom in Early Modern Europe (Harvard University Press) and the critically acclaimed Unintended Reformation: How a Religious Revolution Secularized Society (Harvard University Press), which has been translated into four languages.
